Insurance

At Young Veterinary Partnership we encourage every owner to take out an insurance policy. You never know what is around the corner and when a major medical or surgical problem may arise for your pet.

An insurance policy for a small monthly premium gives you peace of mind that the vet’s bills are covered and enables you to request the best possible investigation and treatment options available.

There are a large number of pet insurance policies to chose from and they vary considerably in the level of cover that they provide and also in the premiums they charge.
Lifetime cover will provide insurance if a condition is recurring such as an allergy that recurs each summer. Time limited insurance will provide insurance for a fixed period normally 1 year from the onset of the condition. In the unfortunate event that your claim is declined, you are responsible for settlement of the account within a reasonable time frame, agreed with the practice of the treatment being provided to your pet.

Payment for fees incurred during consultations, surgeries or inpatient stays are due on completion of the visit / treatment provided. If you would like to make a claim via your insurance, it is your responsibility to provide our team with your insurance information and a completed claim form, or email to open an insurance policy. Our administration staff will print the relevant history and invoices, complete the vets section of a claim form and pass all information directly to your insurer. Financial responsibility for all services rendered is the responsibility of the owner or person presenting the pet for treatment, this responsibility includes ensuring your claim is processed within a reasonable time frame, normally 2 – 4 weeks.

Please note there is a charge of £27.64 for direct insurance claims. If a valid claim form has not been presented at the end of treatment, then payment will be required in full, and upon receipt of a claim form, we will submit it for your insurer to reimburse you directly. When you receive a claim form you are required to complete the policy holders section, and hand it in to our receptionist.

Thank you so much for being a wonderful surgery – the whole team has been great and are now highly recommended by us!! Many thanks again.
